According to the University of Arkansas' Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, "The Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architectural Studies degree is offered to those who wish to gain considerable knowledge of the ecological, social, cultural and historical factors that have shaped landscapes of the western and non-western world. This degree will provide a comprehensive theoretical framework that will suit students wishing to enter careers at the municipal, state and federal levels. This degree will also serve students who wish to pursue a career in environmental design but do not seek landscape architecture licensure."
