Part-Time Job Fair

Wednesday, August 21, 2024

1:30pm-3:30pm
ARKU Ballroom

Do you have on-campus or local part-time positions to fill? The University of Arkansas Part-Time Job Fair is a great way to connect with our students who are looking to get work experience while attending school. We would love to have employers who are "student-friendly" at the fair. These "student-friendly" employers would be open to working around student's school schedules and requirements as well as providing our students with an opportunity to get experience. As a reminder, off-campus jobs must comply with our policies and guidelines (no door-to-door or private residential jobs). This fair is open to ALL U of A students and is held during the first weeks of the semester, also known as "Welcome Weeks". Fair Time: 1:30-3:30pm. Entry for Federal Work Study students begins at 1:00pm. Please have your booths set by 1:00pm and be available to talk to students at that time. Federal Work Study is a need-based financial aid award that allows students to earn money through an on-campus job. A student who is awarded Federal Work Study will have a portion of their wage come from their Federal Work Study award instead of your departmental budget. Campus departments and non-profit organizations are eligible employers. Employers who want hire work study students for the first time should contact Erin Wooldridge at workstud@uark.edu. The booth registration deadline is Wednesday, August 7th, 2024.

All Careers Fair

10am-2pm
ARKU Ballroom

Looking to recruit students from all majors? The University of Arkansas All Careers Fair allows recruiters to connect to UA students and alumni for full-time, part-time, or internship positions for all 270 academic programs. This venue also provides companies branding opportunities on a campus with over 32,000 students representing 103 undergraduate majors and 168 graduate programs. Due to the high participation demand and our limited space for this career fair, organizations recruiting for employment are prioritized. Graduate Schools and University of Arkansas academic departments are instead invited to host an information table in the Student Union. Information tables MUST be requested and are not guaranteed. Contact Debbie Ritter at recruit@uark.edu to request a table. During registration, you'll be asked to determine from a list the top 3 challenges your organization helps to solve! Keep in mind that you will need to be able to talk about how your organization is working on the challenge(s) selected at the fair. Students who register for the All Careers Fair will be encouraged to complete a digital card sort assessment called SparkPath Challenge Cards. The assessment will provide students with their top three challenges they want to help solve in their lives/career. We hope the challenge cards will provide students a way to match themselves with the organizations that attend the fair. Upon approved registration, we'll add your organization's logo under the challenges selected during registration which will be visible on our website and in Handshake for students. The employer registration deadline is September 5th, 2024. Payment is due upon approval of your registration (starting July 1st).
