  1. How can the Career Development Center help me?
    The career center provides many services including career counseling, resume and cover letter reviews, mock job and medical interviews, job search assistance, career fairs, company information sessions, career assessments, Skype interview room reservations, career exploration classes, graduate school counseling, CTR coaching, selecting a major assistance, and LinkedIn profile reviews and photo sessions to name a few.   2. What are the career center hours?
    Our hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Appointments start at 8:30am with the last appointment starting at 3:30pm.

  3. How do I make an appointment?
    There are 3 ways to schedule an appointment.

    1. Online: Log in to Handshake. Click “Appointments” on the left-hand navigation bar.
    2. Phone: All students can call 479-575-2805. Walton College students call 479-575-6100.
    3. In-Person: All students can stop by our office in ARKU 607. Walton College students stop by WJWH 226.

  4. Do I need to dress up for my appointment?
    No, it is not necessary nor expected for students to dress up for an appointment; however we do encourage business casual or business professional attire for mock interview appointments so your career advisor can provide feedback on your attire. Plus, the more you practice in what you'll actually be wearing, the more confident you'll feel for your real interview.

  5. Where is the Career Center located?
    We are located on the 6th floor (west side) of the Arkansas Union (607) above the Union Ballroom.

  6. Are there waiting lists for appointments?
    No, please call daily or log in to Handshake to see if we have an opening or cancellation.

  7. How do I login to Handshake?
    Students: Login to Handshake using your UARK email and password.

    Arkansas Alumni Association Members: Login to Handshake and select "Student/Alumni." If you no longer have a UARK email and password, you can sign up using any personal email address. We will verify that you are a paying Alumni Association Member when you create your Handshake account and request to join the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

  8. What is Career Track Razorbacks (CTR)?
    We're glad you asked! Are you looking for a program to help you go from backpack to briefcase or undergraduate to graduate school? CTR is your answer! It's a free nationally-recognized program developed by the University of Arkansas Career Development Center. Students who join are assigned a CTR coach who works with them to complete seven career modules designed to make them more competitive for the workforce or graduate school. Learn more about CTR.
