How can the Offices of Career Connections help me?
Career Connections provides many career readiness services and hosts career fairs throughout the year. You can see the different services and make an appointment here.

What are the career center hours?
Our hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. You can drop into the Career Studio (1st floor) in the CORD from 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Thursday during the fall and spring semesters.

How do I make an appointment?
Online: Log in to Handshake. Click "Appointments".
Phone: All students can call 479-575-2805. Walton College students call 479-575-6100.

Do I need to dress up for my appointment?
No, it is not necessary for students to dress up for an appointment, however we do encourage business casual or business professional attire for mock interviews.

Where is the Career Center located?
Our main office is located on the 6th floor (west side) of the Arkansas Union (607) above the Union Ballroom. The Career Studio and Bumpers, Education & Health Professions, and Fulbright career counselors are in the CORD. The engineering career coach is in Bell Engineering. The Walton career coach is in WJWH.

Where is my appointment?
Once you schedule an appointment, you’ll receive an appointment reminder via email with the exact office location of your appointment.

Are there waiting lists for appointments?
No, please call daily or log in to Handshake to see if we have an opening or cancellation. You can also receive immediate assistance from a Career Peer Mentor in the Career Studio, located on the first floor of the CORD. Note that we do not take same-day appointments.

How do I login to Handshake?
Students: Login to Handshake using your UARK email and password.
Arkansas Alumni Association Members: Login to Handshake and select "Student/Alumni." If you no longer have a UARK email and password, you can sign up using any personal email address. We will verify that you are an Alumni Association Member when you create your Handshake account and request to join the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.
Non-Arkansas Alumni Association Members: schedule a counseling appointment by calling (479) 575-2805.

What is the Career Studio?
The Career Studio, located on the first floor of the CORD, is an open-concept environment where UA students and alumni can drop in for general career-related services without an appointment. The Career Studio is staffed by Career Peer Mentors, highly trained undergraduate and graduate students representing multiple academic programs on campus. These mentors provide basic one-on-one and group advising/coaching with some of the Career Connections’ most popular services.

Do I need to register for a career fair?
Registration is encouraged, but not required to attend the career fairs. Current students, staff, alumni, and community members may attend any fair offered by the office of Career Connections. Other career events may require registration and will be noted on the event page.

Where can I go to look for a job or internship?
You can search for internships and jobs on Handshake, or you can attend a career fair.
