Mathematics (MASC)

According to the Department of Mathematical Sciences, "The Department of Mathematical Sciences is committed to excellence in teaching, research and service to the State of Arkansas. At the undergraduate level, we offer a flexible B.A. and B.S. degree, the latter degree program with the choice of tracks in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, or statistics. At the graduate level, we offer an M.S. and Ph.D. degree in mathematics. The mathematics minor is also an attractive option for many undergraduate students majoring in a different field. The department also participates in the interdisciplinary master’s program in Statistics and Analytics (STAN) program.

Mathematics is a unique subject with a fascinating history. Its scope is ubiquitous in science and the subject continues to play a larger role in our society as it is applied to more disciplines and used in more commercial settings. Our programs prepare students for a variety of different career goals, including industry, education, as well as preparation for further graduate study."
