According to the University of Arkansas Department of Curriculum and Instruction, "The University of Arkansas offers two paths to elementary teacher licensure in kindergarten through sixth grade (K-6). The Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education is one path. Candidates apply during their sophomore year. Education pedagogy courses are taken through their remaining undergraduate years. Candidates complete their public school internship senior year.
The U of A also offers a combined degree, a B.S.E. in Childhood Education with Master of Arts in Teaching in Elementary Education. The combined degree leads to initial teacher licensure in elementary education that is pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. A student who obtains a U of A B.S.E. in Childhood Education will have completed the course prerequisites for the M.A.T. program."
