What is CTR?
CTR is a nationally-recognized program that helps students
- identify and articulate the eight NACE employer-valued career competencies acquired in academic, co-curricular, and employment settings
- develop in-depth career competencies of career management, professionalism/work ethic, oral/written communication, and digital technology.
Results are achieved through the completion of self-paced modules including developing an odyssey plan, mock interviews, receiving resume & cover letter reviews, conducting informational interviews in areas of interest, and establishing a professional online presence. This program is FREE to all University of Arkansas students. We are committed to enhancing students' professionalism and equipping them with the tools it takes to be competitive in today's job market.

Post-CTR Steps
Upon completion of CTR, there are still many things a student can do to develop professionally and make themselves more competitive as they pursue their career goals.
Post CTR StepsCareer Track Razorbacks involves completing 7 learning modules, each with 1 or 3 assignments. These assignments can be submitted through Blackboard or through face-to-face appointments with your assigned CTR Coach. Below is a brief description of each module, including the assignments required.
Professionalism
Understanding and articulating your unique strengths, skills, interests, personality, and values will help you make better career decisions. In this module, you'll take the StrengthsQuest assessment to discover your strengths and create your career action plan.
Career Exploration
Career Exploration is necessary in order to learn about careers. You can gain knowledge of what the day-to-day tasks and roles are as well as information regarding the bigger picture for that type of position or industry. Here is your opportunity to conduct an informational interview with a professional to learn more about a career of interest.
Equity & Inclusion
Diversity is usually included in every company's mission statement or core values. This elective gives you the opportunity to learn and demonstrate your awareness, attitude, knowledge, and skills required to equitably engage and include people from different cultures.
Technology
Employers seek candidates with work-related technology skills. Enhance your skills even more by completing a LinkedIn Learning course.
Resume & Cover Letter Writing
A resume is a brief account of a person's education, qualifications, and previous experience, typically sent with a job application. Cover letters are one page documents that you send with your resume when applying for a job. It is meant to: Introduce yourself to the hiring manager, Argue why you'd be a good fit for the job, and fill in places your resume cannot describe. Since recruiters read resumes at an average time of 5-7 seconds; improve your chances of holding a recruiter's attention by having a career counselor review your resume and cover letter.
Interview Skills
Learn how to prepare for your interview so that you will stand out as the best fit for a position or program. In this module, you will complete a mock interview and receive feedback.
Network with Professionals
Learn to make a positive first impression with an employer or graduate school program. In this module, you will create your personal branding statement, create a full LinkedIn profile, and attend an on-campus networking event.
