The VAED 1011 class is offered each semester as either a full semester or 8 week course for one credit hour. It is a "crash course" on exploring the right major and career for you and is taught by experienced Career Center staff members. It covers: self assessment, majors available and what you can do with the major, occupational awareness, presenting yourself for employment, and internet resources for the job search. Examine the Majors available to you at the University of Arkansas. Make a list of those that interest you.
A comprehensive list of your options can be found at: What Can I do with THIS Major. Research it. Talk to people "in the know" such as academic advisors, other students, alumni, and faculty members from that department. Schedule a job shadowing day with alumni to see what a typical day at work looks like.
Your investigative work may also include checking out these excellent web resources that contain career information and/or information on selecting the right job for you. These sites provide a description of a wide variety of occupations and detailed information on skills needed, duties, work environment, salary, etc.
