PDI coaching and career education for graduate students, classroom presentations
How did you get started in the Career Services profession?
I had always helped my friends and co-workers with their resumes and CVs so when I saw the Graduate Assistant position for the Career Development Center it seemed like it would be interesting and a good fit.
Describe a “typical work day” in the Career Center.
My typical work day varies depending on the time of year it is. Sometimes I see graduate students who are getting ready to enter the job market and I help them with their resumes/CVs and cover letters as well as job searches. Other times I am planning for one of the conferences I help coordinate, and still other days I may be working at the front desk, filling in. There is a lot of variety in my job.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I love to read - all sorts of fiction mostly. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
What is the most interesting place you have ever visited?
I got to go on a tour through France and Italy last year with my daughter. That was very exciting and the first time I had ever been out of the US!
What do you like best about living in NWArkansas?
The fall weather and all the pretty trees changing color.
