From Abstract to Contract : Graduate Research Symposium & Career Networking


Graduate Students—please note this unique opportunity
for graduate students to present research and prepare for presenting at conferences and meeting potential employers. This venue will also allow student winners to network with employers at an exclusive event during the Spring All Majors Career Fair. This event will have three components.

Research Presentation
Component (March 6th & 7th):

  • Prepare an Abstract and Executive Summary of your current research
  • Create Poster for use in competition and future conferences
  • Receive feedback from faculty and peers on presentation style

Professional Preparation
Component (March 12th):

  • Participate in Networking Training
  • Learn to market self: get resume reviewed and prepare 30 second commercial
  • Two winners from each college will be announced and receive their awards

Networking
Component (April 2nd):

  • Two winners from each college will present posters to employers and faculty at special networking event as part of April All Majors Career Fair in the Arkansas Union
  • Participation in competition included on resume and/or curriculum vita

  • Complete application form and submit registration. (Uploading of Abstract and Executive Summaries are REQUIRED by February 15 to compete in research competition and other components.)
