Services We Provide
The CDC offers a comprehensive range of services such as career advising, Career Fairs, workshops, and events for your student that will facilitate his/her career exploration, practical work experience, and professional development. We take steps to ensure that your student will hear from us during his/her first semester on-campus and each semester after. Many partnerships have been developed with University of Arkansas faculty so that the CDC staff is invited to present in numerous college classrooms each semester on career related topics such as resume preparation.
We need your help to be sure that your student takes full advantage of our services. Be sure to ask your student if she/he has visited the Career Center lately.
From in-depth career advising and career interest tests which guides your student to decide on a major, to our innovative Professional Development Institute which helps your student present themselves more effectively for employment and/or graduate/professional schools, we offer something for freshman through graduate students. Cost for Services
Most of our services are free to students as they are covered through Student Fees included in the tuition bill at the beginning of each semester. Therefore, students can take advantage of services such as our one-on-one career advising with one of our trained professionals at no additional cost. There are a few specialized services that the University of Arkansas charges a minimal fee for including: The Strong Interest or Myers-Briggs career assessments ($10 per assessment), as well as the tuition cost for the VAED 1011 Career Decision Making course (1 credit hour of enrollment). Our online credentials management service partner, Interfolio, charges a minimal fee for their online credential file service.
We recently did an internet search to compare our fees to those charged by For-Profit Career Management Professionals and we found some of these organizations charging $600 or more for the same services that we provide.
