What is Criminal Justice?

According to the University of Arkansas, "The Department of Sociology offers a major leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice. The program in criminal justice is designed to prepare candidates for a variety of entry-level positions in criminal justice and to enable experienced personnel to expand their knowledge and skills. Drawing on a strong interdisciplinary base in the social sciences, the program provides education in the complexities of human behavior and problems of interpersonal relations in an increasingly urbanized America. The overall goal of the program is to enable men and women to contribute to the development and implementation of a fair and effective system of criminal justice."
