What is Finance?

According to the University of Arkansas's Finance department, "The finance curriculum engages students through problem-based casework, real-world business activities, and internships in the financial community. Finance students leave Walton College prepared to successfully meet the rigors and challenges of a wide variety of career opportunities.

Students who elect to major in finance can choose from one of five concentrations: banking; financial management/investment; insurance; real estate, and personal financial management. This choice should reflect the student's primary career focus and electives should be used to complement the coursework in the chosen concentration. Finance majors are strongly encouraged to consult with departmental faculty advisers and/or the department chair in developing their curriculum."
