Career Ambassador Position

Job Title: Career Ambassador
Department: University Career Development Center

Purpose and Mission: The Career Ambassador Program is a career development peer-assistance program designed to provide University of Arkansas (UA) students with career information, resources and referrals. Career Ambassadors make career related presentations to classes, RSOs and departments, and serve as representatives of the UA Career Development Center at university programs and functions across campus. Career Ambassadors also serve as points of contact for students seeking career related information and a desire to connect with career services.

Who are Career Ambassadors: Undergraduates (sophomores and higher) from various majors who are outgoing, friendly, reliable with great interpersonal skills, looking for an opportunity to motivate their peers to set and achieve their career goals. Preference will be given to Sophomore, Juniors and first-year Graduate students for this position.


  • Promote and publicize the UA Career Development Center to students
  • Make presentations to classes, RSOs and departments
  • Assist students in identifying career resources, programs, and services in the UA Career Development Center
  • Answer questions about how students may utilize the UA Career Development Center
  • Participate and assist with UA Career Development Center programs such as Career Fairs, employer information sessions, and seminars
  • Provide resume reviews and mock interviews
  • Conduct outreach with student organizations and in academic buildings to increase awareness of services and resources available at the UA Career Development Center
  • Carry out UA Career Development Center's mission statement

Qualifications/Requirements to Apply

  • Must be a sophomore, junior, or 1st year Graduate Student at the time of employment (8/21/17)
  • Must possess and maintain at least a 2.7 cumulative GPA each semester
  • Must be able to attend bi-weekly trainings/meetings. (Will be compensated for attending trainings and meetings). Bi-weekly meetings and trainings are mandatory for all new ambassadors.
  • Must be able to work at least 10-15 hours per week
  • Must be able to work 1 day a week for mandatory staff meeting
  • Must be available to work at least one evening per week 5:00 - 7:00pm
  • Must be comfortable giving presentations/activities to small and large groups of students
