Design Solution Challenge

Welcome to the Design Solution Challenge, an initiative of the Social Innovation Hub in the Office of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The Design Solution Challenge (DSC) is a new competition offered each semester that is open to any student or team of students interested in finding solutions to pressing social problems. Challenges are posted by social enterprises, businesses, students/faculty or corporations and are generally connected with a social, environmental or energy issue.

Students participating in the Design Solution Challenge will be competing for a monetary award that will supplement their attendance at an educational conference in the semester following their participation in the challenge. The prize will be granted to the best solution, as judged by a committee including industry leaders in social enterprise, faculty, and members of the Social Innovation Hub Advisory Board. After you sign up through the link below, you will receive an email and be added to a Blackboard site with more detailed information about the challenges and process for the competition. We are also hosting an event to kick-off the Design Solution Challenge on Monday, February 27. Employers will have the opportunity this Spring to participate in our first-ever Employer/Grad Student Mixer on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 5pm-8pm in the Arkansas Union Ballroom. The Employer/Grad Student Mixer is for employers and Graduate Students to network the evening of February 28, 2017. This event will be a time for employers to network with University of Arkansas Graduate Students and faculty to learn about our 153 Graduate degrees offered. Employers are encouraged to attend this event if they would like to engage, meet, and consider hiring Graduate students for many of their open positions. STEM Career Fair

Employers are encouraged to register and attend the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Career Fair to meet and network with University of Arkansas students majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. This event also provides the opportunity for employers to brand their companies on a campus with over 27,000 students representing more than 78 undergraduate majors and 153 graduate degree programs. Please note that only Corporate Partners will be given an opportunity to host an individual information session during the week of STEM Career Fair and Pre-STEM Mixer. To be included in printed materials, companies must be registered by February 7th.

The employer registration deadline is February 23rd.

Ph.D. & Master's Virtual Career Fair


The University of Arkansas is proud to host the first Ph.D. & Master's Virtual Career Fair. This fair is designed exclusively for UA Graduate Students and Alumni seeking employment opportunities with employers from the private, public and non-profit sectors.

What is the Virtual Career Fair (VCF)? The VCF is a single day, online career fair for advanced degree students, postdocs, and alumni, sponsored by the Graduate Career Consortium. In 2015, the VCF boasted more than 39 employers, over 1800 students from 32 Graduate Career Consortium campuses, and nearly 20,000 online messages between employers and students.

Employers are encouraged to register and participate in the Ph.D. & Master's Virtual Career Fair. This fair offers a number of advantages for your recruiting needs. E2 Series (Engineers Employed) Spring 2017


The Engineers Employed Series, better known as E2 Series, was created by the College of Engineering to ensure that students majoring in engineering at the University of Arkansas will be better prepared to enter the workforce. Through various professional development workshops and events, UA College of Engineering students will be equipped to face the challenges associated with job searching and find a career that best suits their interests, motivational traits, personality, values, abilities, aptitudes, personal work styles, and work environment preferences.

The E2 Series consists of resume and interview workshops & critiques, company tours, and a few employer/student meet and greets that will allow students the opportunity to interact with local, regional, as well as national employers looking to hire engineers. Students will learn how to create eye-catching resumes, interview effectively, and network with employers that are promoting open positions.
