How did you get started in the Career Services profession?

My first exposure to the career services profession was when I did classroom training and outplacement benefit overviews for employees who had been laid off from their jobs on behalf of a large workforce solutions company.

Describe a “typical work day” in the Career Center.

Each day brings lots of activity, serving the needs of employers who are interested in recruiting on our campus. I help them get their jobs posted, schedule on-campus interviews and information sessions, answer questions about career fairs, and provide lots of information and support to them as they seek to enhance their presence on campus.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy spending time with my daughter, who is a U of A student; as well as my two dogs and cat. I also love to read novels and visit the beach (so reading a novel on the beach is my idea of a great time).

What is the most interesting place you have ever visited?

India is a fascinating country. I was able to spend time in the North, South, East and West when I was there, and each part of the country has its own rich cultural traditions, cuisines, languages, and landmarks.

What do you like best about living in NWArkansas?

I love the scenic beauty of Northwest Arkansas. The trees, mountains, lakes and rivers are incredible.
